Call for Rotterdam curators

15 August 2023

We’re looking for guest curators from across Rotterdam’s creative scene to put their stamp on our RTM programme.

RTM is dedicated to Rotterdam, presenting the best local films and filmmakers. From established names and Rotterdam icons to emerging film talent, this programme reveals the riches of Rotterdam in all its glory – as well as supporting filmmakers with masterclasses and networking.

As a guest curator, you’ll have the chance to programme the RTM day which takes over LantarenVenster on Friday 26 January 2024.

Who are we looking for?

Creative Rotterdammers of all ages that represent the diversity of our city, but most importantly those that have a big heart for cinema.

What will you be doing?

You will create a vision for the programme, watch and select films or other chosen media such as performances, installations or VR, discuss your views with the other curators and be part of the festival team. At the RTM day you will be the host of your programme, giving introductions and moderating Q&As with the filmmakers.

The curators will receive a festival badge, which provides access to almost all films and events, as well as a modest fee.

Requirements

  • You are 18+ years old and live in the Rotterdam region
  • Available to invest 50 hours between the beginning of October and the RTM day on 26 January

The deadline for applications is Monday 18 September. All applicants will receive a response before 4 October.

For questions please contact us by emailing to rtm@IFFR.com.

Please note: the RTM programme will only be organised if IFFR returns to the cinemas as planned in January. If public health restrictions prevent the event from taking place in cinemas, there will be no online version of the RTM programme.
